| Lost mobile phone numbers and mobile phones |
|
Its very frustrating when you lose your mobile phone and all the phone numbers on it. If you have backed up the numbers you can buy a new mobile phone and upload them again but very few people backup. There are lots of web resources for finding mobile numbers and keeping in touch with friends - Facebook, MySpace and Bebo are great social networking sites where people often put their numbers online. However, not everyone is a member so you might need a reverse phone number lookup service. These are available on the web but due to privacy laws you can't always find the numbers you want. Safest thing to do is back up your numbers now and again to an old phone or the web or even write them down in an old school paper address book!! Or just don't lose your phone! If you have lost yours, I guess you need to buy a new mobile phone. Travelling with your phone Travelling abroad with your mobile phone can be a costly business. Save money by buying a pas as you go SIM card abroad or buying a global SIM card - these charge much less than your home provider. WorldSIM and SIM4travel both offer global SIMs although when I took a SIM4travel card to Australia in December 2007 it did not work. If you are going travelling, taking a vacation or holiday, I also recommend that before you book a hotel compare prices. I have seen massive differences between the highest and lowest price for hotel rooms, sometimes half price! |
